XIJAY SCHOOL (village 7.5 miles NW of City of Tula)

Two primary school buildings constructed by the local residents, with funds provided by the Benicia and Tula Rotary Clubs.

XIJAY RENOVATION OF ORIGINAL SCHOOL BUILDING

Recently completed renovation of interior of assembly hall in the 90-year old original building. Building had been previously unusable for many years.

TEXQUEDO - SEASONAL RIVER FLOODING (small rural village on the outskirts about 8 miles from downtown Tula)

The river overflows during the rainy seasons. The rainy season in Tula, Hidalgo generally spans from May to September, averaging around 27 inches.

EXCITING NEWS!!!  TEXQUEDO - PROPOSED VEHICLE BRIDGE PROJECT AWARDED GRANT BY BENICIA LOCAL AND DISTRICT ROTARY ORGANIZATIONS!

11/5/25 The Rotary Club of Benicia received a Rotary District grant ($10,500) to support the Rotary Club of Tula community service project of constructing the vehicle bridge between the villages of Texquedo and San Miguel de las Piedras.  This is in addition to the $5000 already awarded by the local Benicia Rotary Club itself.

Tula Rotary Club supported the construction of a hanging pedestrian bridge over the river.

TEXQUEDO - PROPOSED VEHICLE CULVERT/BRIDGE CONCEPT OVER RIVER

During rainy season, communities are cutoff from each other often preventing access to basic necessities.

(Proposed culvert/bridge currently in planning and funding stages. )
